This box is in very good condition with minimal loss, it's structure is secure and there are no signs of moisture damage. It's also nice to see CHINA still painted into the lid, this dates the item from about 1890 to 1911. This paint actually chips off easily and is sometimes removed to make similar items appear older than they are.
There are also remnants of a label inside the lid, there is no indication of what was on it. The surface of the box has never been waxed and there are no signs of it having ever been submerged or subjected to chemical detergents. I found it nearly gray with dust and was able to clean it with a soft bristle brush, any small white spots shown in the images are areas my brush could not reach. Measures 5 1/2" long, 3 3/4" wide and 2 1/2 tall. The item pictured is the exact item you will receive.
